The Fairy Ring – Tessa Farmer

Jun 15, 2018 -

Becket's Park

There are evil fairies in Northampton. They ride bumblebees and hunt with spiny spears harvested from hedgehogs. They’ve captured hornets and lounge on tabletop toadstools feasting on worms and other delicacies. Artist Tessa Farmer has captured the fairies and imprisoned them in a time bubble. Keep your eyes peeled at the Nene Valley Festival launch at Becket’s Park on 15 September from 11am – 4pm. For more information on the project and NN visit www.nncontemporaryart.org

Drawn Together

Jul 7, 2018 - Sep 30, 2018

78 Derngate

(7th July - 30th September 2018). This exhibition of drawings is a celebration of Graeme and Julia Roach’s combined life-long commitment to drawing. It is also the first exhibition the couple have had together as a duo in their thirty-year partnership. Graeme’s drawings feature geese and swans. His drawings are beautifully executed, often life size and taking months to create leaving the viewer mightily impressed by their complexity and intricate detail. In contrast, Julia’s drawings are on a much smaller scale and consist of playful celebrations of mark making, decorative patterns, shapes and colour which always have a figurative reference.
