Whilst many of the green spaces, parks and reserves in the Nene Valley are accessible by foot, some reserves, parks & attractions are still closed and you will not be able to access the car park or toilets. Please plan ahead and make contact first before heading out.

We’ve done this walk a couple of times now & it’s worth trying it at different times of the year. The best for us though was in August as there are numerous wild flower meadows & the number & species of flowers & butterflies in them at that time of the year is stunning. Read more.
Barnwell Country Park is located in the heart of the Nene Valley and comprises of 37 acres of lakes, riverbank and meadows to explore. With three way marked waterside trails, well-stocked children’s play area, numerous picnic spots, a wealth of wildlife and facilities, Barnwell Country Park is a great place for a family day out.
