The Boardwalk at Nene Park

As the sun shone through the window on Saturday morning, we knew we had to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. Stanwick Lakes has been our favourite park to visit since my son was little and now with two maltese dogs in the family, it has all the ingredients to keep the whole family entertained for hours. Spotlight on... Barnwell Country Park

Barnwell Country Park is located in the heart of the Nene Valley and  comprises of 37 acres of lakes, riverbank and meadows to explore. With three way marked waterside trails, well-stocked children’s play area, numerous picnic spots, a wealth of wildlife and facilities, Barnwell Country Park is a great place for a family day out.

Walking for Health

Active Communities East Northamptonshire works with a wide range of local groups and national partners to get people of all ages and abilities more active across a range of programmes delivered in local communities and leisure facilities. 

The Northampton Health Walks Scheme has been running now for over 10 years, delivering a number of Health Walks across the town. You can also view walks for Peterborough here
