Today’s the day – this years Nene Valley Festival finally gets underway!
Each day throughout the festival we will post daily highlights of some of the key events happening across the festival – both here on the blog and in our podcast feeds as well…
- Day 1 of the festival is of course dominated by our launch event in Peterborough. Our launch kicks off at ten am in the city centre and brings together a range of partners and local venues as Peterborough throws open its doors to celebrate the best in its history with Heritage Open Days. Elsewhere vendors, displays, partners and more will bring a flavour of the Nene Valley with them!
- Elsewhere, Stanwick Lakes plays host to the ever popular Cyclefest event – which sees a range of cycling related displays, installations, interactive exhibits and more – all set in Stanwick’s stunning 750 acres of lakes and parkland. Entry is free from ten for cyclists!
- Nene Valley Brewery open its doors for a guided tour of its facility in Oundle – with tours starting at 11am and costing £10 per person (book at nenevalleybrewery.com)
- Meanwhile in Northampton – Heritage Open Days allows free access to some of the key historical locations across the town, the National Leather Collection host a special Shakespeare themed collection and you can traverse all of these activities with free bus rides on a fleet of vintage open top buses.
