Nenescape, in collaboration project partners, is running a group dog walking event with the help of qualified canine behaviour consultant, Nathan Watson

These walks are for dog owners who wish to walk with others and wish to learn more about dog behaviour and tips for countryside walking.

Our hope is that we can encourage positive dog ownership and practices, by increasing the awareness of the important Nene Valley landscape and what we can do to help it thrive for us and wildlife.

The Upper Nene Valley gravel pit Special Protection Area (SPA) features a series of lakes and wetland grasslands, created by former gravel extraction. The gravel pits are formed of extensive shallow and deep open waters, alongside other features such as sparsely vegetated islands, gravel bars, and other “bird-friendly” habitats. This variety provides valuable resting and feeding conditions for wintering water birds.
