An event every day that begins at 9:45 am, repeating until 26th January, 2020
Come and learn the countryside art of hedgelaying under the guidance and supervision of experienced hedgelayer, and Midland Intermediate Hedgelaying Champion Paul Martin. This course is being supported and run through the Farming for the Future project, part of the Nenescape Landscape Partnership, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Hedgelaying is of tremendous importance in conserving and maintaining the landscape, providing valuable habitat and food for insects and birds, as well as creating green wildlife corridors through the farmed landscape and contributing to the countryside aethestic.
This is a practical workshop, suitable for beginners who would like to learn the ropes, or more experienced hedgelayers to practice and improve, so please come prepared to get stuck in!
