William Whitehead organ

In a late-night candlelit concert, internationally renowned organist William Whitehead’s programme features Bach chorale preludes and contemporary responses to them. The touching funeral motet, O Jesu Christ, meins Lebens Licht, written in Bach’s Leipzig years, contrasts with organ music in a wide variety of styles, including several commissioned for the Orgelbüchlein Project, written on Passiontide and valedictory themes.

Students from the Oundle for Organists Summer Course will also sing some of the chorales.
