Northamptonshire Walks – Thrapston & Titchmarsh Nature Reserves
16th September, 2022
Date: Friday 16th September 10am
Walk: Thrapston & Titchmarsh Nature Reserves
Distance: 8 miles
Difficulty: Easy walking across water meadows & fields. Livestock will be present
Number of people: Maximum 20
This walk starts near Thrapston Bridge where the “Nen” traditionally becomes the “Nene”. The river here is stunning & we follow it for a short while before entering Thrapston Nature Reserve. Next we walk along the old railway line, before leaving it to use smaller paths with great views of the lakes. If you love bird watching then this is the walk for you. Shortly we arrive at the river & follow it for a short distance, before crossing it. Now we enter Titchmarsh Nature Reserve & walk along the other bank, before leaving the river to enter Aldwincle. From there the walk heads south through a trout fishery before reaching Thrapston Mill & following the river back to our start point
