Northamptonshire Walks – Everdon

12th September, 2022

website maker Walk: Everdon
Distance: 6.7 miles
Difficulty: A hilly walk across fields, which will be muddy if wet. There are several stiles & livestock
Number of people: Maximum 20

This is a walk close to the source of the River Nene, when it’s still a trickle in a ditch! It’s also a walk that proves that Northamptonshire isn’t flat. Starting in the beautiful village of Everdon, we quickly climb Everdon Hill & the views begin. From here we walk the ridge all the way to Fawsley, stopping to have a look at the church and Fawsley Hall. Next we follow the Knightley Way to Preston Capes where the view from the church is incredible. From there we descend across the fields, before one last steep climb up to Mantles Heath. Now it’s downhill all the way back to Everdon, passing through the site of the old village of Snorscombe. A truly beautiful walk
