Peterborough Cathedral – Online talk: Peterborough’s Peasant Revolt
14th October, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeA warm welcome back to Cromwell Museum Curator, Stuart Orme, who continues our autumn series of online History Talks.
The Peasants’ Revolt, also named Wat Tyler’s Rebellion or the Great Rising, was a major uprising across large parts of England in 1381. It had various causes, including the socio-economic and political tensions generated by the Black Death in the 1340s.
But how did it manifest itself in Peterborough? Who better to enlighten us than Stuart whose knowledge of this subject is extensive and who formerly worked as part of the staff team here at the Cathedral as well as at Peterborough Museum.

Tickets are £7 per viewing (+ booking fee).
The talk begins at 7.30pm and will last around 40 minutes, followed by time for questions.
