Enjoy a two-hour guided tour with tea/coffee/biscuits by volunteer and trustee Brian Pearce MBE. Brian has been a volunteer on the project since its inception in 1985. Assisted by Rod Morris, he will highlight what has been achieved by volunteers, companies, groups and individuals working together for a common environmental goal on a zero budget!

We are ‘Champions of Re-Use and Re-Purpose’! Victorian ironwork, from aqueducts to railway bridges have been ‘repurposed’ in the wildlife haven to create ponds and waterfalls in an intriguing exciting place for our visitors to explore and learn about our amazing World we all call home. It has taken over 25 years to transform three acres of derelict, former power station coal yard into a landscaped wildlife habitat that is now home to over 300 species of fauna and flora.

Other areas of interest include an Edwardian twin cylinder steam driven alternator – Plus the unique RTV 31 Hovertrain – plus of course over 2,000 sqft of Model Railways for you to enjoy.

Take the opportunity to have a rest in our tranquil picnic area, while viewing the mainline passenger and freight trains close by.

Meet at the Railworld Wildlife Haven entrance at 12pm and 2:00.
