900 Voices of the River Nene with Gaia

28th August, 2019 @ 7:30 pm

£2

Celebrate the River Nene and hear some of its stories, as the Gaia Earth artwork by Luke Jerram turns under the central tower of the Cathedral.

Judi Alston and Andy Campbell of One to One Development Trust will present films from the 900 Voices Collection, including ‘Railworld the Volunteers Story’, filmed at Railworld Wildlife Haven (pictured below), and  ‘Nene – at Peterborough Cathedral’, filmed when the river-inspired composition by Benjamin Till was performed by school musicians at the Cathedral in March 2018.

The 900 Voices project began collecting memories and stories of the river during the Cathedral’s 900th year in 2018. This evening we will hear about the significance of the River Nene, its heritage and its importance as an environmental resource, as it flows from Northampton to Peterborough.

The 900 Voices Nene digital art installation will also be available on a touch screen to explore. https://900voicesofthenene.co.uk/

The Gaia exhibition will be open to visitors until 9.30pm.

£2 per person / £6 per family (two adults, two children).

Please book for the 7.30pm time to make sure you see the 900 Voices presentation as well as see the Gaia artwork.
