Mary Hart – Special Moments Through Travel and Stitch

Mary Hart returns to 78 Derngate with her second solo exhibition of textile art. She is inspired by the texture, architecture and landscapes she sees, both at home and on travels around the globe. Mary's multi-layered artworks use different fabrics, stitching, dyeing, beading and many other techniques to achieve the desired result of her inspiration. Works in the exhibition are for sale and a selection of cards will be available to purchase too.

Hoards: A Hidden History of Ancient Britain

Cathedral Christmas Craft and Gift Market

Peterborough City Christmas Market

The Cathedral is participating in the City's Christmas Market this year, with traditional market stalls on Cathedral Green joining those in the city centre. There will be gift ideas, alpine chalets and Yuletide food and drink outlets, so come along and experience Christmas in a beautiful setting. The stalls will be open daily. Closing times are Sunday mornings until 12.00 noon, and on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The Craft People will be bringing their Craft and Gift Marquee to the Nene Park on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of November, open between 10am and 4pm each day. The craft and gift marquee will have over 30 stalls with a variety of gifts and Christmas decorations and festive treats. On each of our Festive Sundays in December and throughout the school Christmas holiday, we have a special trail with a festive themed prize at the end for everyone. Pick up a trail sheet at the Visitor Centre and Gift Shop for just 50p and remember to return to claim your prize! No need to book.

Wild Home Educator Session

Here at Ferry Meadows we will be running 2 hour sessions on the second Monday of every month for home schooled children. Each session will have curriculum and nature focused activities, with each month having a different theme: December 9th  - Natural Art Aimed at KS1. Arriving at Wansford, you will gather on the platform for the big reveal then once on board the heated carriages, you will find your allocated seats, sit back and enjoy a magical train ride, viewing the beautiful light displays between Wansford and Overton Station while a musical accompaniment adds to the spectacle. The Stanwick Lakes Wildlife Explorers is an RSPB group lead by volunteers, which provides the perfect location to observe wildlife, make friends and take part in all sorts of practical activities. From bark rubbing to hunting for mini-beasts, its perfect for children aged 5+. Meetings this year will involve time spent outdoors and there’s always the risk of brambles and nettles, so please make sure you come wearing sensible outdoor clothes – warm, waterproof and with wellies, if necessary.
