What is a Wellyphant you ask? Find out as you join in with the creation of a story inspired by Nick Sharratt. Get jotting, doodling, scribbling as you make the characters come alive and discover new ones along the way! Plus, visit the Nick Sharratt exhibition to discover more about his work. Monday to Friday this February half term. Entry charges apply until 3pm.

RSPB Family Bird Walks

Join local RSPB volunteers for a bird walk to learn about the resident and migrant birds found in and around Stanwick Lakes. Meet outside the Rangers Cabin at 10am. If you own binoculars please bring them, if not there may be some available to use thanks to the RSPB volunteers. Tickets cost £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for children. The Stanwick Lakes Wildlife Explorers is an RSPB group lead by volunteers, which provides the perfect location to observe wildlife, make friends and take part in all sorts of practical activities. From bark rubbing to hunting for mini-beasts, its perfect for children aged 5+. Meetings this year will involve time spent outdoors and there’s always the risk of brambles and nettles, so please make sure you come wearing sensible outdoor clothes – warm, waterproof and with wellies, if necessary.
