The Stanwick Lakes Wildlife Explorers is an RSPB group lead by volunteers, which provides the perfect location to observe wildlife, make friends and take part in all sorts of practical activities. From bark rubbing to hunting for mini-beasts, its perfect for children aged 5+. Meetings this year will involve time spent outdoors and there’s always the risk of brambles and nettles, so please make sure you come wearing sensible outdoor clothes – warm, waterproof and with wellies, if necessary. VE Day 2020

Nene Valley Railway - 8 May - 10 May

The NVR will be commemorating VE Day with a three-day event starting on Friday 8 May 2020 – this date has been declared a bank holiday by the Government. Wansford Station will be celebrating with live singers, dancing and music to create a street party atmosphere. We encourage visitors to dress up in their best 1940’s outfits and bring dancing shoes to take part in our platform activities throughout the weekend.

The Doorslammers

Doorslammers which ran in the 1970’s and 1980’s is back at Santa Pod in a bigger and better format, along with a huge prize fund. The Doorslammers has six heads-up classes along with one huge Bracket class. The prize money up for grabs will be £85k, this will again be the largest prize money ever paid out for this type of event in the UK.

Learn a new skill this year at our new monthly Pay and Play Archery event! Archery sessions will run throughout the day, offering multiple time slots which can be booked on site. The sessions will be held on Coney Meadow (between the Visitor Centre and Lynch Lake) and will last for 45 minutes. Participants must be 8 years + Cost just £5 per person The sessions are hosted by fully trained members of the Nene Outdoors team.
