Charles Kitchen – Into the Light

Closed Mondays.  Light effects from both coastal and inland scenes inspired the works in this exhibition. By working to translate nature’s colours and weather effects onto a two dimensional surface the artist is able to evoke the atmosphere of each scene rather than produce a copied representation of it. Gathered here are paintings from a career spanning thirty-five years.

Thrapston Guided History Walks – Thrapston was a thriving Saxon community – then the Normans arrived

The walk will start from outside St James Church Hall and include the Bull Ring and Chancery Lane. This is a free event but booking is essential. The walk will be approximately 90 minutes in duration and will be on pavements. The walk will be led by Neil Busby, Thrapston Heritage. Your ticket will be emailed to you.

After the Battle of Northampton, which was fought on the Abbey grounds to the north of the Abbey and to the south of the River Nene, King Henry VI was captured and spent the night of 10 July 1460 at the Abbey…
