Bat Walk

A pipistrelle bat can eat over 3000 insects in one night, which makes them very useful to farmers who are worried about insects damaging their crops. We’ve invited Antony from the Cambridgeshire Bat Group to come and lead a walk around the farm to see which species of bat we have living here. Mums and Tots Ride

Haunted Halloween

Enjoy a spooktacular day of fun with scary craft activities and a haunted trail around the museum. Try the witches brew at the refreshments stall if you dare! Why not come dressed in your scariest costume? Suitable for children aged two and over. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Activities will be taking place throughout the museum. The Stanwick Lakes Wildlife Explorers is an RSPB group lead by volunteers, which provides the perfect location to observe wildlife, make friends and take part in all sorts of practical activities. From bark rubbing to hunting for mini-beasts, its perfect for children aged 5+. Meetings this year will involve time spent outdoors and there’s always the risk of brambles and nettles, so please make sure you come wearing sensible outdoor clothes – warm, waterproof and with wellies, if necessary.
